Dan Wenzel

Blind Industries and Services of Maryland

Dan Wenzel, is the manager of youth services at Blind Industries and Services of Maryland (BISM). A graduate of Cardinal Stritch University, he has worked in the blindness field for nearly 20 years, beginning in 1993, when he worked as counselor for a residential high school summer program for blind students at the Colorado Center for the Blind (CCB) in Denver, Colorado. He has since worked at the CCB as the director of youth services, a cane travel instructor and, eventually, the assistant director. In 2001, he accepted a position at the Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WCBVI), where he served as a regional support specialist, coordinator of the Summer Employment Skills Experience Program and the center's director. Dan is a former board member of the Council of Schools for the Blind and the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). He is an active member of the NFB.
