Luk H. Vandenberghe, Ph.D.

Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Harvard Medical School

Luk H. Vandenberghe, Ph.D., directs the Ocular Gene Transfer Core at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Harvard Medical School. He is a member of the Ocular Genomics Institute, the Berman Gund laboratory and the Harvard Stem Cell Institute at Harvard. Dr. Vandenberghe is the recipient of numerous prizes and awards and has published in excess of 40 peer-reviewed research articles and created more than a dozen patents related to gene transfer and therapy. He is a co-founder of GenSight Biologics, a biotech company focused on innovative gene therapies for blinding disorders. The research mission of Dr. Vandenberghe’s laboratory is to develop gene therapy as a broadly applicable treatment in ophthalmology through the study and development of technologies that overcome current translational hurdles.
