Brian Hurley

National Industries for the Blind

Brian Hurley is a Public Affairs Program Director for National Industries for the Blind (NIB). Brian joined NIB in August of 2009. Before NIB, Brian worked for 12 years in the technology industry developing relationships between commercial and non-profit organizations to produce web-based products and services. His previous position was at Nokia, where he helped developers put applications onto smartphones in global markets. He has a Masters degree in Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelors degree in Finance from Butler University.

Brian, affected with Retinitis Pigmentosa, became heavily involved with local blindness organizations. He volunteered to raise funds, create awareness and provide support to those in need of services and assistive technology. After years of helping others, he wanted to apply his business experiences in an environment that could help other blind people achieve independence.
