Presenter Biography

Duane R. Geruschat, Ph.D.

Associated Professor
Salus University


Duane R. Geruschat, Ph.D., received his undergraduate degree from Duquesne University with a major in music. He received a M.D. from Western Michigan University in orientation and mobility and his Ph.D. in special education with a minor in visual science from Temple University. He began his career as an orientation and mobility specialist teaching students with multiple disabilities. He worked in the Feinbloom Low Vision Center of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry from 1979 to 1987 as a low vision rehabilitation specialist while teaching in the graduate training program. He is the former Director of Research at the Maryland School for the Blind and Research Associate in Opthalmology at the Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Geruschat is currently an Associate Professor at Salus University.
