Foundation Fighting Blindness Clinical Research Institute (FFB CRI)
FFB CRI is a newly established non-profit entity, a support organization of the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB). The mission of the FFB CRI is to accelerate the translation of laboratory based research into clinical trials for treatments and cures of retinal degenerative diseases.
The Foundation Fighting Blindness is now at a point where strong, durable bridges between the laboratory and the clinic must be put into place to provide a conduit whereby promising treatments can reach patients. To arrive at our destination, several critical research needs must be met.
Foundation-funded scientists at institutions throughout the world conduct research for the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases including: retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, Usher syndrome, Stargardt disease.
