Welcome to the South Carolina Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness!  Our Chapter is located in Columbia, and we have been working very hard to extend our reach beyond the Midlands to include the Upstate, Pee Dee, and the Low Country Regions of this state.

Our goal is to plan meetings for our members that are beneficial to all in terms of education, research updates, and support for those who are living with retinal diseases as well as for parents with children who have retinal diseases.

The South Carolina Chapter is one of many Chapters across the country that works very hard to help keep our members current on the latest retinal research and developments.  We also learn about support services, assistive technology resources, and other opportunities that are available around the state.

We look forward to the continued growth of our Chapter so that we may raise awareness about blinding retinal diseases and the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ Mission to drive research that will provide treatments, preventions, and cures for the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases.  We share the vision of David Brint, Chairman of Foundation Fighting Blindness:  We will end Blindness!

Together we work to help support research funded by the Foundation Fighting Blindness through grass root fundraising and awareness raising events.  We want to make sure that as many people as possible in our community and surrounding areas know about our Chapter and the Foundation Fighting Blindness.  We want to help others realize that there is hope for a future with sight.

We hope you are encouraged to join us in our fight to end blindness.  Your thoughts on program content, meeting dates and times, networking interests, and ideas for fundraising events are very important to us.  We’d love to hear from you, and we welcome your participation in the South Carolina Chapter!

There are other leadership opportunities available and we would be honored to work with you on building awareness in South Carolina.  Contact Lesley Ireland at 919-781-8014 or for questions or more information.
