5th Annual Twin Cities Visionary Awards Dinner Dining in the Dark
Tuesday, May 24, 2016
Hilton Minneapolis
1001 Marquette Ave.
Minneapolis, MN  55403

5:30 pm - Reception and silent auction
7:00 pm - Program, dinner and live auction
The Foundation Fighting Blindness’ Twin Cities Visionary Awards Dinner, Dining in the Dark, provides its guests with a unique opportunity to perform an everyday task, that of eating a meal, without using their vision.  Donning masks to simulate blindness, guests face the same reality affected families encounter on a daily basis, thus giving them a glimpse into the challenges faced by those visually impaired or blind.
An important facet of Dining in the Dark is the recognition of a person or organization that has been an extraordinary leader in furthering the mission of the Foundation Fighting Blindness, as we say “a Visionary. Join us in honoring this year’s Honoree, the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota, by sponsoring a table, buying individual tickets or making other contributions. It will be a fun, powerful, and memorable experience as you play a direct role in curing blindness!
In addition to the delicious dinner, silent and live auctions, offering unique items and experiences, are also part of the evening. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Foundation’s cutting-edge research into preventions, treatments and cures for blinding retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, Stargardt disease and Usher Syndrome.
For more information or to register for the dinner, or contact Lori Quinn, Events Manager, at or 847-680-0100.
