Montgomery County Chapter Welcome Letter
Message from the President:
Welcome to the Montgomery County Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB). I am honored to serve as Chapter President. Each person in the Chapter has their own story as to why finding a cure is important to them. What’s yours?
The Montgomery County Chapter is proud to represent the FFB in their fight to find preventions, treatments and cures for people suffering from retinal diseases. And it’s working. The Eye on a Cure blog is a great way to stay up-to-date on the research, discoveries and clinical trials taking place today. Each year it is bringing us closer and closer to the FFB’s motto becoming a reality; A Cure is in Sight.
As a chapter we raise money to further FFB’s efforts through the VisionWalk, offer education through our various chapter events, provide information to our members about the important research that is being done by FFB and others and letting them know about the resources available in our community.
We would love for you to join us in the fight by becoming involved in the Chapter. Feel free to contact me if you would like to get involved for the first time or would like to take a leadership role in the Chapter. How to get involved? Consider starting a team for our upcoming VisionWalk in September, attend one of our Chapter events to learn more about current research and vision health related issues or attend one of our other periodic events.
Volunteers are the core of any non-profit organization and the Montgomery County Chapter has been very lucky to have such a great group of volunteers. The energy created by these events is infectious and helps foster the Chapter community. We can always use more input, insight and help so please consider getting involved today! I welcome your suggestions about the Chapter, upcoming topics for our educational Chapter Speakers series, ways to reach out to potential new members and potential fundraising activities.
Together we are making a difference both in raising important funds for research and in the everyday lives of those suffering from a retinal disease. With your help, A Cure is in Sight!
Montgomery County Chapter President
