Mid-South Chapter of Memphis Meetings and Events

7th Annual Memphis VisionWalk

Shelby Farms was beautiful (if you looked around the construction!), the rain passed us by early, and we had a great day on Saturday, October 10, 2015! I hope you all had fun celebrating the fundraising accomplished this year, and the gathering of good friends within the blind and visually impaired community of the Mid-South.

THANKS TO OUR LEADERSHIP!

We want to give special thanks to our Family Chair, Alicia Hall; Walk Chairs, Janice Caudill and Roseanna Behrman; Chapter President Dr. Alessandro Iannaccone; Youth Chairs Rebekah Curl and Gino Hall, II; Honorary Chair, Brady Boyd, Miss Capital City; and our other Walk Committee members, Don and Stacy Curl, and Jole Lovelace. Your leadership and dedication to the VisionWalk was the driving force behind our success.  Our new emcee, Brady Boyd, did a great job on stage.

THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS!

We would also like to thank our sponsors: Our National Walk Partners, Regeneron and Genentech; Community Leader, Southern College of Optometry; and Community Supporters, Allen & Hoshall; Charles Retina Institute; Germantown Lions Club; and Rice, Amundsen & Caperton PLLC.

A special thank you to the many community sponsors and in-kind donors who made Saturday such a great day for so many. I'd like to recognize the Memphis Fire Department; Kroger; Palazola Produce; Einstein Brothers; and Starbucks.

Our photographer who graciously volunteered her time on Saturday to take a LOT of pictures was Taylor Mitchell from Taylor-Made Designs.

Special recognition goes out to the Delta Gammas from the University of Memphis for serving as top-notch volunteers.

Leading our Walk warm-ups was LaToya Bowdre from Zumba Fitness. Thanks for filling in last-minute ... you were great!

Memphis - Jordans Eyes 2015And finally, a HUGE thank you to all the Team Captains, walkers, and volunteers! Your support, dedication, and energy made the day a true success.
