Welcome to the Michigan Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness
Hello, my name is Kathy Marcath, new president for the Michigan Chapter of The Foundation Fighting Blindness. We have had some amazing people fill this role since its inception in the early 1970’s. Much has been accomplished since then resulting in FFB being at the threshold of major breakthroughs.
More than 300 people came out to Kensington Metropark - North Martindale “S” in Milford on Saturday May 20, 2017 to celebrate the 10th Annual Michigan VisionWalk and raise money for retinal disease research. So far this year, our teams have raised more than $92,000 and we’re still going. The bounce house, face painter and balloon twister were very popular with the walkers, especially the kids! Teams enjoyed bagels, donuts, fruit and coffee before the walk and a pizza lunch after.
A BIG thank you to all of our sponsors, walk teams and volunteers for the great job this year!
If you have photos to share, send them our way. Here are a few photos of the day. Our “official” photo album will be ready soon.
Chapter Presentations and Events:
We’re busy planning our next Chapter meeting for October or November, so stay tuned.
