Welcome to the Michigan Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness
Hello, my name is Kathy Marcath, new president for the Michigan Chapter of The Foundation Fighting Blindness. We have had some amazing people fill this role since its inception in the early 1970’s. Much has been accomplished since then resulting in FFB being at the threshold of major breakthroughs.
Save the date for the 11th Annual Michigan VisionWalk – Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Kensington Metropark, Milford, MI. Join us for this fun, family event and help raise money for retinal disease research.
Chapter Presentations and Events:
Tap into Dr. Amy Laster’s Expertise in Degenerative Retinal Diseases
Come to an exceptional program by the Foundation’s Amy Laster, PhD and meet others from the retinal disease community. Dr. Laster’s expertise in age-related macular degeneration, RP, Stargardt, Usher, and other degenerative retinal diseases will increase your understanding of the diseases including inheritance patterns and vulnerability factors.
Enhancing Dr. Laster’s presentation will be a Patient Ambassador, a special guest who will speak from a personal perspective on disease progression and maintaining eye health. A Q&A session follows the presentations.
Plus, learn about services available to the visually impaired through southeast Michigan libraries.
In addition to our informative program, you’ll get a preview of the 11th Annual Michigan VisionWalk set for Saturday, May 19, 2018!
