Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter Welcome Letter

Dear Friends of the FFB Dallas/Fort WorthChapter:

As the person responsible for the success of the DFW-FFB Chapter, I would like to extend a personal invitation for you to become more involved in the amazing DFW Chapter we have proudly formed for those who personally have a retinal degenerative disease or have a significant other who is challenged with a retinal degenerative disease.

If you are looking for helpful resources, an opportunity to encourage on-going research to find a cure for blindness, help in our fundraising efforts, or simply a support group comprised of men, women, and children who are in the same boat and would certainly appreciate additional rowers….well, grab an oar and let’s get moving in the right direction together. The DFW Chapter is looking forward to welcoming you. We believe if we keep our sights set on tackling the rough waters together then the smooth waters will come more quickly.

As an individual also impacted by RP, I am here to ensure parents, spouses, children, and all of us afflicted with a retinal disease have an opportunity to learn more about the research being done and the support that is available. The DFW chapter leadership includes members with no vision challenges to members with Stargardt disease, macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, etc. One thing we ALL have in common is the desire fight for sight through bringing greater awareness to the community, raising funds to support research grants, and being a solid support base for one another. Whether you are the parent, child, teenager, grandparent, friend, the one who is challenged, or the one who is trying your best to care for and support someone who is challenged — this is everyone’s struggle and it will one day be everyone’s VICTORY!

We have many ways to participate already planned for the upcoming months. Check out our calendar of events for social meets, chapter meetings, fundraising events, and MORE! Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more about becoming a part of the FFB-DFW Chapter. We would love to have you join us!
