Cleveland Chapter Welcome Letter

Welcome to the Cleveland Chapter of FFB and thank you for your interest.

Greg DubeckyFFB proves that hard work, dedication and an insatiable drive to benefit others can leave an indelible mark of greatness on the world. And, we are on the cusp of something great. We have never been closer to the goals of prevention, restoration of sight, and cure of blindness caused by retinal degenerative diseases than we are today. Each new and ongoing study shows promise in reaching these goals and brings us ever closer to the now-palpable realization that a cure is in sight. When our goal is realized, one can only imagine the wave of emotion and the sense of gratification that will be experienced by the millions affected by these diseases as well as by the countless others that are committed to FFB’s mission.

The fact remains that there is still much work that needs to be done. Our mission in the Cleveland Chapter is to raise awareness, educate and promote, and support those of our community affected in by these diseases. I am confident that participation in our chapter will come with great reward not only as an integral part of finding a cure soon, but also by establishing a network of friends with whom we will celebrate our part in achieving FFB’s goals.

Typically, those choosing to involve themselves with a cause are somehow connected to the cause. I am no exception. My choice to become active in FFB is rooted primarily in the fact that I have several family members affected by retinitis pigmentosa and macular degeneration. What has fueled my desire even more is quite simply how close we are to preventions, restorations, and cures. However, you need not be connected to the cause to play an important roll. If you are at all interested in being part of something great and realizing a sense of satisfaction each time we are rewarded with extraordinary research results, then please consider participation. It is with your help that a cure is in sight.
