Baltimore Chapter Welcome Letter

President's Message

Mindy Kaplan

Thank you for taking the time and interest to locate our site. The FFB Baltimore leaders and supporters invite you to join our local group to meet, engage, share, learn, educate, promote, and raise funds for research.

The Baltimore chapter hosts two speaker seminars; one in the Fall and one in the Spring, open to the public and providing information on research and clinical trials, new technology, tools, and services for the visually impaired and blind, meet organizations and learning skills for day to day living. We also attend events hosted by local organization to educate others about FFB and our mission, have social events, and offer support to all.

Forty five years ago, research for retinal degenerative diseases did not exist. But a grassroots, group who incorporated in Baltimore, changed the course of those individuals diagnosed with progressive degenerative diseases by offering them hope. Today, there are over 20 human clinical trials in progress to hopefully preserve and restore vision. The research has made tremendous strides!

So, whatever your interests and talents are we invite you to join us and make a difference.

Look forward to meeting you.
