Baltimore Chapter Welcome Letter
Thank you for your interest in the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ (FFB) Baltimore chapter. Our chapter is one of over 40 Foundation chapters nationwide. Through the chapter we offer not only the education and support to help you as an affected person or the loved one of someone affected by inherited retinal disease, we also share the tools you’ll need to promote the FFB mission to your family, friends, businesses and the surrounding community.
The Foundation’s mission is to raise funds that drive the research to find cures, treatments, and preventions for the spectrum of inherited retinal diseases that lead to blindness. Until that exciting and celebratory day when we find a cure for these sight stealing conditions there is much we can do to support those affected by vision loss and to advance the science.
There are many chapter activities that may interest you. We host seminars on various topics including services and technology for the blind and visually impaired, and updates on the research and clinical trials. Our members do outreach to promote FFB by attending community meetings, conventions and expos often as a presenter or within the exhibit hall. We also meet with local businesses and organizations to build support for our annual Baltimore VisionWalk and other fundraising activities.
Through various events there is always the opportunity to meet, engage, and share with FFB local families and supporters. I look forward to inviting you to future chapter events and hope you will attend.
Feel free to contact me.
