2014 Outstanding New Trustee

John Mozeliak - 2014 Outstanding New Trustee

This year the award goes to John Mozeliak, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the St. Louis Cardinals. John Mozeliak has been a vital part of the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ presence in St. Louis since he first became involved with FFB.

He was honored as a Visionary Award Recipient in 2010 at the inaugural St. Louis Dining in the Dark, accepting the role after meeting Dinner Co-chair and St. Louis Chapter President, Jason Morris. Since then, John has continued to be an instrumental leader for the St. Louis Dining in the Dark. He has served as an Honorary Chair and helped secure notable honorees every year, and six very successful dinners have been built upon his relationships and persistent outreach.

In addition to his assistance with securing honorees, John also supports Dining in the Dark by reaching out to his contacts to support the dinner with donations and table sponsorships. As the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, his valuable involvement has made FFB the Cardinals’ charity of choice: the Cardinals consistently donate unique and valuable items for the live and silent auction, support the dinner with a table sponsorship, and a Cardinals player has served as one of the dinner honorees for the past two years.

Thanks in large part to his leadership, strong relationships and dedication, the St. Louis Dining in the Dark has raised $1.6 million dollars since its inception. John is a valuable and committed leader in St. Louis, and we are proud to name him the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ 2014 Outstanding New Trustee.
