Description

Over 10 million Americans are affected by blinding retinal diseases such as macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa and Usher Syndrome. The Foundation Fighting Blindness is working to find treatments and cures for these devastating diseases. Our Foundation funds leading-edge research in areas such as genetics, gene therapy, transplantation, artificial retinal implants, and pharmaceutical and nutritional therapies.

VisionWalk

Since 2006, VisionWalk has raised over $25 million to support the mission of the Foundation Fighting Blindness.  Over 50 walks are planned for 2013, including the 6th Annual Kansas City VisionWalk on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Frank A. Theis Park at Brush Creek, just south of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

Join us for a fun, family-friendly event to celebrate the fundraising efforts of the Kansas City community and to get together with friends and family of those who share a similar goal of finding a cure.  We will have plenty of activities, including a bounce house, giant inflatable slide, face painting, mascots from area teams, a DJ, snacks in the morning and a free hot dog lunch afterward, and a whole lot more.  Please join us!
