Please join us for the Montgomery County VisionWalk Kick Off Luncheon on Saturday, August 21st, 2010.

This free event is a great way to kick off your own VisionWalk experience! Please bring along friends, family, and colleagues who are interested in participating in VisionWalk. Learn about the important work of the Foundation Fighting Blindness that you will be helping support.

The lunch program will include:
• "Recent Scientific Advances" summary to EDUCATE you about the Foundation's latest research progress
• "Walk Day Details" summary so you and your family are fully PREPARED for the event
• Lesson in "Fundraising 101" to learn how to LEAD your team, motivate team members, write excellent fundraising letters and e-mails and best reach your fundraising goal.

We ask that each team has a representative attend this fun and celebratory event. Information and walk materials will be handed out at this time.

Foundation Fighting Blindness
Over ten million Americans are affected by blinding retinal diseases such as macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, and Usher syndrome. Foundation Fighting Blindness is working to find treatments and cures for these devastating diseases. Foundation Fighting Blindness funds leading-edge research in areas such as genetics, gene therapy, transplantation, artificial retinal implants, and pharmaceutical and nutritional therapies.

VisionWalk
Since 2006, VisionWalk has raised over $13 million to support the mission of the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Over 46 walks are planned for 2010, including the Montgomery County VisionWalk on Sunday, September 26th at Rockville Town Square, Rockville, MD.
