We use our vision every day, in everything that we do. But while we use our eyes constantly, we often take our vision for granted. Our eyes are one of the most complex organs in our bodies but they are also very delicate. In this video series, Dr. Stephen Rose, chief research officer of the Foundation Fighting Blindness, explains some very simple things you can do in your day-to-day life to protect your eyes and keep your vision for life. We'll provide simple tips on: how to eat healthfully for your eyes; eye safety and simple ways to protect your eyes from harm; healthy habits to fight fatigue and keep your eyes strong; and why it is important to see your eye doctor regularly. A Visionary Breakthrough

Nine-year old Corey Haas is a true pioneer in retinal research. Corey has a disease called Leber congenital amaurosis, a rare degenerative condition that robbed him of most of his vision as a very young child. After taking part in a landmark gene therapy study funded in part by the Foundation Fighting Blindness, Corey has regained much of his sight. Watch this remarkable story of passion and perseverance.

The video features young Corey Haas, a 9-year old boy with Leber congenital amaurosis whose sight has been restored by gene therapy, along our own Chief Research Officer Dr. Steve Rose and FFB-funded researcher Dr. Jean Bennett. Dr. Sherwin lauded gene therapy as a terrific success in biotechnology and medicine and just one example of how patience, persistence, and passionate support can pay off.
