A Legacy for Research
For over 30 years, the Foundation Fighting Blindness has supported an eye donor program. Individuals with a diagnosis of an inherited retinal degenerative disease and their blood relatives can register with FFB to donate their eyes after death for research. Initial studies are done at the Cole Eye Institute where the Foundation-supported histopathology facility is located. Then, scientists throughout the world studying these diseases can request information and samples from these often rare and valuable tissues for investigations specific to their research.
