VisionWalk All Stars Shine
|
Just in time for the spring 2010 season, the Foundation has launched its VisionWalk All Star program to recognize outstanding individual walkers who raise $1,000 or more. All walkers around the country are working hard to drive research for sight-saving cures, and the All Star program is our way of celebrating extraordinary fundraisers who set a challenging goal and meet or exceed that goal. We are proud to announce our first VisionWalk All Stars:
Kate Furukawa, VisionWalk All Star and Atlanta walk co-chair, says, “Bright and shining! That’s what being an All Star is all about in this fight for a cure. With a little bit of effort; a few emails to family, friends and colleagues; and a willingness to share our stories, we can all help realize the dream of everyone seeing all that is bright and beautiful in our world. Dave and I told our story through the eyes of our infant son. Will’s wish is for his daddy to see again. Will’s wish is coming true: A cure is in sight.” How do you become an All Star? Register for your local walk and set a goal to raise $1,000 or more in individual fundraising. Personalize your Web page telling your story about why you are walking, and send your fundraising message out to friends, family, and colleagues. Tell everyone about the Foundation’s urgent mission to end vision-robbing retinal diseases, and how their support will drive research for preventions, treatments, and cures. With a little tenacity and persistence, you can reach the $1,000 mark and become our next VisionWalk All Star. To begin your own quest to become a VisionWalk All Star, visit www.VisionWalk.org and register today. |
