Saffron Supplementation for Stargardt Disease: Italy

RECRUITING Description: The Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Italy is conducting a 30-person clinical trial of saffron for the treatment of Stargardt disease. Saffron contains high concentrations of crocin and crocetin, compounds with anti-oxidative properties. Saffron supplementation has inhibited retinal degeneration in lab studies.
