Bone Marrow Cell Transplant for Retinitis Pigmentosa, Cone-Rod Dystrophy: University of San Paulo (Brazil)

NOT RECRUITING Description: An international team led by researchers from the University of San Paulo (Brazil) conducted a 10-month Phase I clinical trial to evaluate the safety of a bone marrow cell treatment for three people with advanced retinitis pigmentosa and two people with advanced cone-rod dystrophy. Each participant had one eye treated. No adverse events were reported. Four participants demonstrated a one-line improvement in vision one week after transplantation.
