Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Inaugural Washington VisionWalk at Magnuson Park in Seattle! We had over 200 walkers and 17 fantastic teams participate in this year’s VisionWalk to help Foundation Fighting Blindness raise over $45,000 for critical retinal degenerative disease research! We want to give a special thank you to our VisionWalk Co-Chairs, Kathy Chung and Lori Dougherty, our VisionWalk King, Gary Chung, 2011 Mrs. Washington, Lisa Bluhm for getting us warmed up and ready to walk with a little Zumba, and Mike & Mary Hoag, and Anthony & Rose Salazar for helping us to get this Walk off the ground. Also thank you so much to our sponsors: Mike & Mary Hoag, Evergreen Eye Center, New Life Fellowship, Sound Retina, Cornerstone Advisors, and Retina Institute of Washington. Also, we want to thank Jars of Rain, Fringe Shift, and Odd Roger for providing the live music and to Adam Tiesgs for keeping it going. A special thank you to the Guide Dogs and Puppy Raisers for being their in support and bringing the wonderful dogs with them. We also want to thank all of our amazing volunteers for making this day possible, especially the ASL Student Body from Inglemoor High School and Lori Powers and her family for getting us through the day and for being the best volunteers ever! Thank you! We also could not have had such a wonderful walk day without the support of all of teams, walkers and volunteers! Congratulations to our top five fundraising teams: VisionQuest, Believing is Seeing, Team Noah, Blinded by the Night, and Eye Wanna Cure. And congratulations to our “Best T-shirt” contest winner – Team Noah for screaming the loudest! Once again a huge THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS for all of your fantastic efforts and support! |
