"Turning the Corner: From Laboratory Studies to Clinical Trials"
Click here to listen to the audio Presented by: Timothy Schoen, Ph.D. The Bay Area hosted a free conference call about the advances in genetics, gene therapy, pharmaceutical therapies and cellular therapies by Dr. Timothy Schoen. “It’s a pleasure to be here, on this Cybertalk….I’d like to give an overview of some of the exciting science projects that we’re working on and hoping to move into the clinic! I’ve been with the Foundation going on 13 years, and I’m really excited because when I started we had nothing, there was really no treatments other than vitamin A therapy. Now, we’re at a point where gene therapy trails are taking place, and we’ve got neuroprotective trials, and we’re moving into cell treatments – it’s very exciting times!” Please use the .pdf document as a powerpoint presentation to follow during his talk. We also want to recognize, this is only possible from the generosity of our members. The urgent mission of the Foundation Fighting Blindness is to drive the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, Usher syndrome and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases.
