Banking on a Cure: New York Visionary Awards Dinner
|
On Wednesday, January 19, more than 350 guests arrived at The Plaza Hotel in New York City for the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ Banking on a Cure New York Visionary Awards Dinner. The dinner honored Aryeh B. Bourkoff, Vice Chairman, Global Head of Telecom, Media, and Technology Investment Banking at UBS Investment Bank and Stanley Chang, M.D., Chairman, Department of Ophthalmology at the Columbia University Medical Center for their outstanding generosity and commitment to their communities and the retinal disease community. Guests dined alongside attendees such as former Governor David Paterson, David Stern and Jeff Zucker while NBC News correspondent Peter Alexander served as the evening’s emcee. Many were also delighted to be in the company of the Foundation’s co-founders, Gordon and Lulie Gund. Thanks to the diligence and passion of dinner co-chairs Daniel G. Bergstein and Ehren Stenzler, trustee co-chair Iris Spiegel, and a dedicated dinner committee, the dinner raised $1 million for retinal disease research. Thank you to all that participated in this tremendous event.
