Fort Myers, FL – 4th Annual Southwest FL VisionWalk 2010

Thank you all so much for your support of the 4th Annual Southwest Florida VisionWalk! More than 225 participants joined us in our fight for sight on a beautiful sunny day at Lakes Regional Park on Saturday, April 17th. With the donations that came in on Walk day, we have raised nearly $30,000 and counting. Keep checking our website at www.VisionWalk.org to watch our thermometer rise! Jim Farrell Chief Meteorologist, CBS Wink News Honorary Walk Chair Many thanks to our Honorary Walk Chair, Jim Farrell of CBS Wink News! We also want to thank our local volunteers; Jim & Brenda Buckley, Sally VanBuskirk, Sis Whennen, Karen Myrick and Sarah Staats for helping to coordinate their teams and get the word out about the event. The Walk kicked off with a wonderful team spirit contest showcasing many of our wonderfully creative teams.  The Visionators:Walmart Stores Team excited the crowd with their energetic cheer and walked away with the “Best Team Spirit” award. We would also like to thank our sponsors, Walmart Health & Wellness, Best Buy, Retina Health Center and our Regional Partner, ShopLowVision.com/Optelec for showing what it means to be a true community supporter! We have always had an outpouring of support from all the teams to help raise thousands of dollars, and this year was no exception. Congratulations to all of our Teams!! The 5th Annual Southwest Florida VisionWalk is tentatively set for April 2011 once again at Lakes Regional Park. An announcement will be made when the date is confirmed and when the new 2010 website is ready for registration.
