Peter A. Campochiaro, M.D.

Peter Campochiaro is the George S. and Dolores Dore Professor of Ophthalmology and Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He did his undergraduate training at the University of Notre Dame and received an M.D. from Johns Hopkins. He did an Ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia and postdoctoral training in Neurochemistry, Retinal Cell Biology, and Vitreoretinal Surgery at Johns Hopkins. He joined the faculty at the University of Virginia as an assistant professor of Ophthalmology in 1984 and has been a professor of Ophthalmology and Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins since 1991. He is a clinician-scientist who performs translational and clinical research aimed at developing new treatments for ocular neovascularization and retinal degenerations. |
