Terry Braun, Ph.D.

Terry Braun received both his B.S. degree and his M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA.  He then obtained his Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Iowa.  Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the departments of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, and Biomedical Engineering. As director of the Coordinated Laboratory for Computational Genomics (CLCG), his laboratory is developing computational tools and novel techniques for disease gene identification, prioritization, and annotation for disorders that include: age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, and Bardet-Biedl Syndrome. Dr. Braun is also a faculty member of the Carver Family Center for Macular Degeneration.
