Message from the President:
In the fledgling years of the RP Foundation, the original name of the Foundation Fighting Blindness, the trustees of the Princeton affiliate would gather around a dining room table and discuss ways to raise money for research. Remember, this was back in the day when no one knew about retinitis pigmentosa (RP). Even in the medical community, so little was known that a medical text book covered the topic in one paragraph!

Princeton Chapter Recognized with Founding Chapter Award
The Princeton Chapter was honored with a special Founding Chapter Award at VISIONS 2011, the Foundation's national conference. Chapter President Lulie Gund was recognized for her longstanding leadership in June at the VISIONS Awards Gala in Baltimore, MD.
Also a Foundation co-founder and National Trustee, Lulie established the inaugural Princeton Chapter in 1972, laying the groundwork for the thriving nationwide network of 47 chapters that exist today. Through a successful letter writing campaign and various fundraising events, the Princeton Chapter has raised more than $5 million for sight-saving research.
Congratulations to Lulie and all the Princeton Chapter Leaders!
