Message from the President:

terry_super_thumbnailIn February, the Kansas City Chapter hosted an Open House at St. Joseph’s Medical Center.  It was a great opportunity to talk to representatives of local service organizations that deal with the visually impaired as well as to get information on specific retinal diseases.  Over 40 people attended!

VisionWalk Update:

Our June 23 VisionWalk was FINALLY under 90 degrees, but that didn't cool anyone's enthusiasm for one of the best VisionWalks we have had, with more than 360 participants. We hope you all enjoyed beautiful Kaufmann Gardens and Theis Park to celebrate our fundraising efforts in support of the Foundation and the critical research it funds. Our teams and families did another amazing job of fundraising, crossing the $45,000 mark with the help of Walmart Vision Centers.

The Kansas City Chapter was excited to tour the renowned lab facilities of the Vision Research Center of Kansas City at the UMKC School of Medicine on August 24, 2012.
