Welcome to the Birmingham Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness!

Our goal is to host educational meetings featuring retinal specialists, researchers, low vision specialists and resources. Social meetings are planned as well to provide a supportive environment for people with retinal degenerative diseases. As a chapter we strive to provide a sense of community and hope.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a chilly October day, to celebrate the 3rd Annual Birmingham VisionWalk at HomewoodPark. We had over 200 walkers participate in this year’s VisionWalk to help Foundation Fighting Blindness raise over $50,000 for critical retinal degenerative disease research!

Joey Richey has been a member of the Foundation Fighting Blindness for years and when he heard that the VisionWalk was coming to Birmingham in 2009 he jumped at the chance to participate; his team, Joey’s Messengers of Hope, raised $4,600!
