• I am in Utah, i have b een here for about 10 years, i I am from seattle and my family is stil lthere, someday i would like to move back though i think. I just ofund out on halloween that i had CRD. I have had bad vision since i was born, i was misdiagnoced many times, when i was about 6 the eye doctors told me i had stargardts disease and every year i lost a bit more vision and was always told it would neve get worse. About a year ago i was told i didn't have stargardt's but the eye doctor didn't know what it was. then on halloween i had noticed a sudden loss of vision and went in and saw my doctor, he was kind enought to see me that day, and did some reserach and talked to some doctors and concluded that i had CRD. I dont see to well right now, my color is gone, no night vision, and some peripheral. I do work, i work at Utah Valley University in Student success and also at a suppliment compony. I have alot of visual aides, like a CCTV and zoomtext and both jobs, i am re-learning jaws and braille its been a while sicne i learned thsoe. So my jobs have been great on helping me get the stuff i need. I have a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and will finish a Masters Degree this spring in Exercise Science. Then in the fall i am begining anotehr masters degree in teaching of the blind and visualley impaired. I dont know anyone with CRD, i have met people alot time ago that have Rod-Cone Dystrophy and didn't know there was a Cone-Rod dystrophy so when the doctor told me i like yeah i know wht rod-cone dystrophy is i knwo people who have it, he said no this is alot different lol. Do you have any kids? wil lthey hvae it? I am worried about my son.

• Hi Marty how are you doing? Its been awhile since we last sooke. I have a new email address so please feel free to write me anytime. I would like to have someone to talk to about this because even though my husband and family are very sweet and loving they just dont understand. But how could they? Its so hard to explain to oeople that dont have it. Mso it is nice to talk to someone who can relate to my every day strughles. As for my sons they are 23 and 19 and neither seem to have anything wrong so far but then agaim i wasnt diagmosed unyil i was late 30s.
