  • My husband was diagnosed four years ago and has 20-30 degrees of vision left.

He is noticing the deteration and is becoming extremely anxious to the point that we both think he might need medication for his anxiety.

Do any of you use meds for anxiety/depression?

    Should he see a Psychiatrist?

    Can you make any recomendations?

    Thanks

  • Since being diagnosed with RP I have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder/depression. I had to start seeing a psychiatrist. Sounds like a good idea for your husband too. I have been on several medications and i am still trying to find something to help me deal with it. I am currently taking a new medication called Pristiq and Vistaril, and i am still having issues but sometimes the medication takes a while to start working. Hope your husband knows he's not alone in dealing with this.

  • hi
i take medication called sedoxil 5mg to control my anxienty. they are very effective, and i take them when the yearly tests get nearer and sometimes i also take them when i get anxious on other issues.
but i can understand the feeling as i suffer from a lot of anxiety.
they are a sedative but are quite mild so you may continue you daily jobs however they do make me feel sleepy sometimes
