- How real is gene therapy?

- Obviously the last stuff on the news is wonderful. But I noticed that the trials were done on fairly young people. Is this going to be something that's only going to be able to benefit very young individuals or will folks that are 20, 30, 40yrs old able to use too?
I hope they can spread these results to people with RP and get something out to the public in the next ten years.

- Actually the 15 years of study doesn't seem too horrible. I'd assume it would be yearly checkups. What I'd really like to see if something similar being done for RP. Like everyone else here I'm sure, I'm sick and tired of waiting for a treatment. And I really do hope they don't come along and say these treatments have some sort of age range cutoff. I highly doubt they would, but perhaps there wouldn't be quite as much benefit for older people.
