  • Has anyone heard anything new this week on the CNTF trial. I was hoping that the results would be annouced yesterday or today. Does anyone know which meeting the results were going to be announced at ???

    Results were going to be announced at ARVO 2009, being held few days ago. That's what I know.

    Does anyoine else know additional info?

    Unfortunately I don't think that the results must have been outstanding or we would have heard something by now. Just my thoughts. Colleen

  • I agree with you that something must have happened for the results not to come out in May 2009. But there are two issues that still give me hope. One is that one the neurotech website they say the results should be out by th first half of 2009.
    The next is that there were many animal trials and phase I was very encouraging so I dont see why they would want to hide Phase2/3 results. Having been fast-tracked means a lot in my opinion.The fda wouldnt fast-track something that in their opninion is not giving hope.
    Also the last one, i am under the impression from their website the the trial for RP started a few months after than the AMD one.

  • hello, I think some papers are still being reviewed by Arvo, I think by the end of June this happens, as CNTF, the mere fact have shown benefits in rp, improving visual acuity in some cases, have justified its use! maybe, who knows, a stage 3 or 4; hugs! sergio s.gomes
