- Vitamin A

- I have RP with moderate loss. My question is simple, where can i purchase vitamin A ?

- Everyone I've spoken to that take the Vit A gets it from Carlson Labs. Just do a google search for them. The ones I know that take it, take 16,000 IU's a day. Recommended liver exam at least once a year.

- Our Retinologist said to not use Vit A that the levels you would need to assist with RP would be detrimental to the liver and other vital organs. I would check with your doctor before purchasing and beginning Vit A therapy. The retinologist suggested a multi vitamin with lutein and fishoil and not vitamin A...unless combined in a Multi.

- My son has had some stabilizing of his vision deterioration with:
Lutein 20 mg
Beta Carotene 25,000 IU
Vitamin C 250 mg
Zinc 50 mg
DHA 400 mg (be careful of vitamin E in DHA)
Avoid Vitamin E

- run away from it. It gave me 10years of cataract problems.I got my straight vision back with lens implants
