- Mary,
All I did was google "blind cane training in MO" and the Virtual Health Care Team School of Health Professions came up at the Univ of MO at Columbia. There was a section for cane training and rehab for blindness. The contact number was also there (573)-884-6705. Also they listed an e-mail contact. I am sure they have the listings in different cities also. Hope I have helped you. Maybe others live near you and could offer some advice. I am on the East Coast.

- Mary,
Reyne, I think came up with the school for those who want to be Mobility instructors. But that would be the wrong place for you.
You would need to contact the Rehabilitation Services for the Blind. That is the State agency that provides services to the blind/VI people for Independant Living as well as Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services. Perhaps you might have family members young enough who are wanting to attend college, they can get VR help to pay for tuition and other stuff they may need.

- Darran,
I am so sorry for the blunder! You are right as I was jumping to conclusions when I read the article! :-)

- Depending on the ages, if they are still in school, High School and below, my school district has provided my son with braille and cane training along with a vision counselor to follow him through. You could try there.....
