- Unemployment and SSDI?

- Hi I'm kida new. I would like some input if anyone has any info. I work Part-time in production. This place provides work for the blind and vision impaired. I have RP. I am layed off ALOT due to government contracts. Anyway I was told because I collect SSDI I cannot collect Unemloyment. I thought they were 2 very different things. Thanks for any input.

- That is true. SSDI is considered a form of income, therefore, automatic exclusion for unemployment benefits.

- Thanks Darren My employer told me that I cannot collect because it could interfere with SSDI. They said that when I am layed off other employers can call me to go and work for them and I would have to go. However I believe I am being lied to. I don't know what to do or say to them. I only worked 13 so far this year. I usually work 3 days a week. I cannot get another job because where I live there are no buses. My husband bypasses my current employer. I am so frustrated. Thanks again
