- Hi Daneete,
I forgot to mention that the announce appeared on 02/01/2008, so it means the new recent.
To my best, CNTF is an encapsulated drug implanted in the vitreous. Such a drug is a long term and sustained delivery of several therapeotic factors. You better chech this link:
http://www.neurotechusa.com/product_tech.asp
In the other hand, ACT (Advanced cell technology) is announcing a therapy based on human embryonic stem cells (a controversial topic). I know that there is another clinical trial in the USA, performed by Dr. Norman Radtke by using embryonic stem cells transplantations. You can also check its web site.
So, ACT therapy, if FDA approves a clinical trial with humans, would represent another feasible treatment for us.
Greetings,
Luis G.
