- What is the latest for fetal cell transplants to treat RP? Is there a study using human subjects currently going on? Thanks for your help.

- Progress is slow. The problem is telling the cells to develop into cell specific, such as rods and cones in the retina. Until they overcome that barrier, it's going to be very slow.

- I would assume that there are a lot more people working on cell transformation since it appears to be one of the major items for stem cell research.

- Yes, and the results are mediocre. Look to Dr. Radtke's project. He's been at it for several years with very very slow improvement.

- Hi Darran;
I'm going in March to Chicago to hear a lecture about stem cells. I heard they did get them to proliferate into specific cells of the eye. I'm going to hear to group from the University of Wisconson. I'll let ya know what I learn.

- Patti,
Please do report what you find. I'm thinking this group from Wisconsin is likely affiliated with the two doctors who started this whole thing years ago but due to lack of funding couldn't move along as fast as they could.
