- Yes, there are a lot of side effects with Diamox, but I found that I adjusted to most of them after a couple of weeks. The second/third time, different side effects, and couldn't seem to adjust well. Now am just trying the Trusopt drops.

- I thought you were already going to try to do this? Usually Diamox is the first route and the shots are the very last resort. So if the shots are not working, then likely the Diamox won't work.

- Nikki, keep trying whatever there is out there... You never know what will work for YOU. With the Diamox, it can be very a very slow improvement or at least not get any worse... and would be measurable only after months... and the improvement, if there is any, may not be permanent. Trusopt (drops) may be more effective (at least in the short term) but we're talking about studies done with like 8 people from what I see. Diamox pills/sequels and Trusopt drops are sulfa drugs. With Diamox, you have to eat plenty of potassium foods (bananas) because it's a diuretic too.

- Nikki, the way they found and are tracking my CME is trough an OCT .. ocular computerized tomography... not a pressure check, which may have soemthing to do with it but to me, a pressure check would be glaucoma.

- I've been on Diamox for about 3 years now without any major problems. Worked up gradually to 1000mg a day (two capsules) and now I am back down to just 1 capsule (500mg)for the last year or so. I was REALLY tired on two capsules (of course I had just had a baby as well when I started them), but other than that I only had tingling in the extremities in the beginning. They did not improve my vision, but so far the CME has not progressed any further in my right or left eyes since I've taken the drops. According to the OCT scan, the swelling in my right eye did actually go down a little as well. I eat a banana every day and drink lots of OJ.

- 1000 mg wow i was only on 250 a day and i felt sick. Ive made the decsion to stop taking it even though it did help the swelling a little bite. Im just tired of feeling sick all the time.
