  • CNTF Problem?
  • Posted: 2008-01-16 16:09:16 By Larry G
  • I have a problem that I think is related to my CNTF implant. Prior to receiving the implant I have been taking eye drops of Nevanac and Trusopt for my CME without any problems. I take the drops because I had a bad reaction to Diamox sequals. Since the implant I have developed an allergic reaction to the drops. Has anyone else experienced anything like this, with or without having the implant?

    Thanks,
    Larry

  • Larry, I don't know if this will help you, but ,after my brother had the implant, he had trouble with his eyes looking very red for longer than they should have. He was allergic to one of drops they gave him, changed that, and he was fine. Carol C.

  • Carol,

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know what drips he was allergic to. It would be interesting if it was Nevanac or trusopt.

    Thanks,
    Larry

  • Nikki, Paul's implant was put in on Sept. 21, so it would come out about that time in 2008 ( one year), with follow-up for 6 more months after that. He has been told he will have the choice to keep it in if he wants. The only question they haven't answered yet is : if he keeps it, but needs it out later, who pays for removal? I'm sure his insurance won't touch anything experimental. That could be a big bill. Carol
