• After recently discovering my severly deaf daughter also has RP I read many messages on here and learned so much in a short space of time. Darren you're a star and discovering I'm not alone has boosted my confidence by miles. I've been pretty firm with the VI teacher and pushed her into a definate date for an assessment of my childs eyes and educational needs. We go to the VI clinic next week. The day before we will look around the VI unit and the school. I'm already feeling confident enough to go with my gut instinct. My daughter already knows what she can and can't see and what difficulties she is having. I will listen to her and not let the education authority push us towards the easier and/or cheaper option.
  This site has been a real boost for me. Thanks. I've joined the parents with RP children site, thanks for inviting me katie. I'll update on here when we get to see the eye specialist for a full assessment of the condition.Wendy in the UK
