- Most major metor areas have some sort of bus system. They vary from place to place. In my opinion, Portland, Oregon has one of the best systems implemented (they were/are ranked one of the top in the Nation). I've seen a few others and didn't like it as much as Tri-Met in Portland. I could get anywhere, anyplace nearly anytime.

- Chicago also has a great ADA Paratransit system through their PACE bus system. If you live in the 'burbs, like I do, they pick you up at your door step and take you within their range. If you need to travel farther distances, you can transfer from ADA system to another. Cost is $3 per one way (includes up to 2 transers). Chicago also has a Taxi assistance program where they subsidize the cost of the rides... I think it's like $5 each way... If you go to school in Chicago or live in the area, the transit system is top notch!
