- Vitamin E

- My nephew has RP and his Dr. told him that Vitamin E is not good for those with RP and one food he should cut out of his diet is nuts. Does anyone know if that is true?

- Depending who you listen to, then the answer would be yes. Dr. Berson did a study in Vitamin A and Vitamin E on RP and those with 400IU Vitamin E saw a progression of RP. So yes, there is some truth to it. Some doctors say no because the Vitamin A study is quite contreversial. So because of that, it's hard to say for sure.
I have been told from someone that did see Dr. Berson and said that only the synthetic version of Vitamin E is harmful. So the natural vitamin E is safe.
As far as nuts go, this is a first I've heard of such.

- I have heard the opposite - that nuts are good as well as a diet rich in Vit A.
