  • Intro with myopicMD, cataracts, and possible glaucoma
  • Posted: 2013-04-09 11:06:31 By debra p
  • Hello all,I am new here.I have had severe myopia my whole life but in 09 had surgery to reattach retina (insert belt), and 2yrs later left eye has vitreous tear and went from my good eye to my worse eye in moments. I feel that drs don't give you the info you need to make life decisions. Since 2009 my vision is getting progressively worse. My drivers license was taken away from me a few months ago (age 50) which I am still getting over. Was told recently that my cataracts cant be removed (too dangerous). I find that every eye dr, specialist, and surgeon says something different (if they say much at all). I find I have to be my own advocate and am educating myself via internet about my eye issues and my future. I am finding that there is no public transportation in place for disabled like me in my area. I need support, and info. I am depressed and scared. I am out of work and am appealing my denial for ssi/ssd. Knowledge is power and without it I feel powerless!
