- I'm in my 40's and was diagnosed with AMD 2 years ago after I developed a scotoma in my left eye. Now I have some grey spots in my right eye. I'm afraid to begin anything new in my life and I'm depressed.

- I hear you. I was diagnosed at age 45,
Mom died a couple of moths later, and month after that I lost my job - NOT A GOOD YEAR!
I'm fine now. And you will be too.
Find out from the doctors what they think caused it. That way you will know what you are dealing with.
I am now 20/200. But, I can still read with magnification. I have no problems walking, bike riding, cooking,... gave up driving, have trouble recognizing people at a distance, and if I miss a spot when cleaning who cares - If I can't see it, is it really there?.
On the positive side, friends, neighbors and family are great about giving me a lift which means good company. And I still see 90% of is there.
