  I currently live in Naples where I was born and raised and I am now 60 years old and was diagnosed with macular degeneration which is a horrible eye disease with no cure. It has devastated my entire life and has robbed me of what I consider the most valuable thing I have (my sight). I could no longer see my childrens face, watch television, read books and drive a car. A few months ago I was was listening to a country station and I heard about a new breakthrough eye vitamin that was developed at the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital at the University of Alabama. I have to admit I was skeptical at first but needless to say I was very desperate and was willing to try anything I could. I called the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital and asked them about what I had heard on the radio and they told me the name of the vitamin was Macular Health. I was told that they just completed a study on this vitamin and it showed a 16% improvement in retina function in just 12 weeks and that it was the first time this had ever been done. So needless to say at this point I was so pumped up I loged on to the companies web site with the help of my daughter which by the way we had to google Macualr Health to find. We then purchased a 3 month supply which ended up costing me $13.33 per month which I felt was very affordable and the best thing was I only had to take 1 pill per day. I received the vitamin in a few days after my daughter placed the order and now 4 months later I can now read the small print in my books and see my families faces so much better. I still cannot drive my car but if my vision continues to improve as it already has I have no doubt god willing I will be driving again soon. I thank god for giving someone the knowledge to come up with such a great product and I am so grateful to get back what vision I have so far. I have numerous friends at a local senior center that I visit weekly with this horrific eye disease and they to are now taking the Macular Health eye vitamin and are also very grateful for me telling them about it. As you can now see I am able to get back on my computer and type so since God was good to me I want to tell others about my troubled life in hopes I can help them if they are living in darkness as I did for so long.

  Glad to hear you found something that works for you. I will look into it, but I am already taking the drugs my Dr recommended--beta-carotene and Lutein and I also added Copper. So far I don't see any difference in my vision, but then. my vision is not really bad yet. Just what does this new drug have in it? And in what quantities? Does is say on the package? I am 71 and was diagnosed with Dry MD last February.

• Hi janice I was recently diagnosed with m.d.read youre letter 1/16/08.Iam due for a lazer treatment in about 2 weeks .im very aprehensive can u tell me if what u took is called AREDS.I spoke to Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital and thats what they told me to try . joe l

• It is called Macular Health which contains the AREDS Formula. If you call them back and ask them about the Macular Health eye vitamin they will know what you are talking about. My doctors name was Dr Mason at the UAB Eye Foundation. The web site is www.macularhealth.com

• All I have to take is one pill per day and my doctor told me that it is the exact formula that I need to protect my eyes. It only cost me $13.33 per month which is very helpful since I am on a fixed income. I have copied below what is on the Macular Health web site for you to see what is in it. I don't think you are taking the right stuff and that could be why you have not seen anything yet?? All I can do is tell you it has been nothing short of a miracle for me and it has been a life saver.
