  • I was recently diagnosed with a form of macular dystrophy. I go to a specialist tomorrow to find out what that really means. The last doctor didn't want to go into details and referred my questions to the specialist. It's been a month or so of waiting to find out. I am trying to find out more information, but it's rather had without much information. They have found drusen in both eyes, but I have no other symptoms. I guess I am looking for more information or more of a starting point. What I have found seems to be minimal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Doesn't it make you sick? I went to two different opthamolgists after an optomistrist told me. The offered me different brands of vitamins Preservision and Icaps. I was concerned about the high vitamin A content. My primary care said I would have to make a choice on risks. Univ of NC prescribed the Icaps. The did a lot of photography of my eye.
The 1st opthamologist said I had it in one eye.
UNC said I had it in both which I believe. I think zinc is questioned, maybe need the same level of copper. I also read vit a is safe when taken with vitamin e, I think, but there are different names for vitamin a. Oh well,
thank you, thank you, thank you for just talking to me. Please don't stop.

  • Yes, I am sick of all the conflicting information. And honestly I haven't felt great taking such high dosages of vit's either. And you can only each so much kale.

  • I also thing drinking water is important. It is all about cleaning your eyes. And of course, I hate drinking water.
