- Great news on the Lucentis. I have had similar results with avastin. Eye is real stable, next appointment in 2 months. Have you noticed any improvement in vision? I seem to have slightly improved, I.E. one line on the Snellen chart.
As to activity on the board, maybe a lot of people have given up due to the difficulties FFB has had and some really non-vision related messages. Let's get it going again. Mary where are you?

- I"m right here, Vince and Leo.
So Glad to hear that you both are doing so well.
Yes the message board has not been doing well at all.
I pop in here and there when I can, but as you say, lots of non related advertiseing, and so on going on.
In addition to, It's summer and I think much posting slows at that time of the year also.
Then not too much new in the treatment of MD or myopia. Some things in the works, research and trial stage at the moment but seems to be moveing rather slow right now.
Not alot of Big Information, taking over the news, like Lucentis did.
Hope your enjoying your summer.

- Hello Leo.,
Good news for you. Hope things continue in the positive.
I do not know what happened, seems that after the message board had difficulties, things started dropping off, and from that point on, continued to drop off.
I do not know where everyone is. I hope they are well and their vision is hanging in there.
see my message to Vince.

- Re: TargeGen Announces Successful Completion of Phase I Clinical Trial of Topical AMD Drug TG100801
It has been along time since we have heard anything about this eye drop.
I sure hope they have not stopped the research on it.
Has anyone heard anything "NEW"
about the trials of it, and results, or if it will continue to be tested and be out there for public use sometime soon?

TargeGen Announces Successful Completion of Phase I Clinical Trial of Topical AMD Drug TG100801
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- TargeGen, Inc. has announced that the Company has completed a single-center Phase I clinical trial of TG100801 in 42 healthy volunteer subjects. TG100801 is a small molecule, topically applied (eye drop), multi-target kinase inhibitor that is being developed for the treatment of macular degeneration and other debilitating diseases of the eye. Preliminary results from this Phase I study suggest that TG100801 is well tolerated in humans at the low and high doses tested when applied topically twice daily for 14 days. Final study results are expected by the end of April 2007. TargeGen currently plans to initiate Phase II clinical trials in wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) patients in mid-2007.
TG100801, applied daily in eye drop form, is designed to suppress disease related edema, angiogenesis and inflammation simultaneously. Edema, angiogenesis and inflammation are pathological hallmarks of AMD, diabetic macular edema (DME) and proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). Currently approved therapies for macular degeneration require repeated injection into the eye.
"The successful completion of this 'first in human' safety study with TG100801 represents a meaningful milestone for TargeGen and sets the stage for the near term initiation of human efficacy trials. We remain very optimistic about the potential for demonstrating efficacy in humans in the near future," stated Peter G. Ulrich, President, CEO and Co-Founder of TargeGen.

- Thanks,
I just found out about this late last night,
wrote to the co-ordinator at JHH. but have been told they are not doing it there at this time.
And thoughts are to use the drop for something else, in trial not mac degen.
Houston is also testing this, but it sure is a long way to go to the RS and for a trial.

- There is another topical drug beging tested. Its called OT-551 and I believe it just began Phase II trials. Info can be found at www.othera.com
It sounds like this would be used in conjunction with Lucentis and might have some ability to reverse damage.
This will certainly be interesting to watch.

- Hi Amy, yes I heard about othera's eye drop.
was not too happy when I had read they were buddying it up with the Lucentis.
The whole purpose of the eye drops In my opinion, is to elemenate the need for the shots and give us all another less invasive alternative treatment.
