- Applied Genetic Technologies Corporation (AGTC)is the company that is working on gene replacement therapy for retinoschisis. I emailed AGTC, asking for status of the pre-clinical trial and when they expect the human clinical trial to start. This was their response:
AGTC received a grant from the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) to conduct preclinical studies in animals that need to be completed before we can consider doing a human clinical trial. Our current estimate is that the first clinical trial will start within the next 5 years.
